The Avengers

  • The TV show aired its first episode on the 7th January 1961 after the first episode the TV show manged to last 8 years and 8 seasons
  • The cast was filled with many popular actors at the time including Diana Rigg, Patrick Macnee and Linda Thorson.
  • This TV show is one of the first in stands for feminism, with women doing the role of what men were usually expected to play.
  • This TV show is rather old now, and aspects like the technology and animations can certainly seem quite dated compared to today's mainstream.

Cuffs

Cuffs is a drama TV series showing the lives of front-line officers within Brighton and the surrounding area of Sussex serving within the fictional South Sussex Police service. This series was aired on BBC one and was first aired in October, 2015. There was violence in the show but it was handled relatively sensitively, no direct shots of, inappropriate aspects such as self-harming or nudity.

Here are some reviews for it:
‘The Characterisation felt a bit soapy’
‘felt like any other police show we’d seen’
‘some nice moments of subtle humour’
‘this series felt alive to the perils of modern policing.’
‘It also looked pretty good – lots of sweeping shots of Brighton, a bright summery vibe to it which was cleverly offset with all the day-to-day awfulness the police had to clean up.’
